Detailed Biography
David Spillers’ journey into the printing industry began in 1990 when he saw an ad in The Wall Street Journal for a printing business for sale in San Diego. After visiting several shops, he stopped in Reno to visit another location on his way back to Wyoming. This visit resulted in the purchase of what would become Digiprint Corporation in the fall of 1990. By 1991, David was officially the owner.
Digiprint began as a small business with just two employees, one copier, and aging equipment. Under David’s leadership, the company grew from $175,000 in annual revenue to well into 7 figures. Today, Digiprint has a strong presence in the digital printing, large-format graphics, and branding markets.
Beyond the business, David is an active member of the community. He is a member of EDAWN, the Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce, Associated Builders and Contractors, The Builders, and Vistage, and served as president of the Rotary Club of Reno in 2023-2024. He also supports nonprofit organizations, including Volunteers of America, Catholic Charities, EDDY House, Awaken, The Empowerment Center, Soroptimist, Nevada Women’s Fund, and Washoe County Children in Transition. He is particularly committed to supporting children experiencing homelessness, a cause close to his heart.
David’s career path reflects both entrepreneurial spirit and family values. Born in Casper, Wyoming, he grew up working in his father’s commercial and industrial painting business, which he later ran until 1988. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of San Diego and an MBA from the University of Wyoming. Outside of work, he is the father of three children, including two dentists and one employee at Digiprint, and the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren.
